Are you one of the millions asking yourself what is changing to your Medicare Supplement in 2020.  We want to answer that for you.  So let’s clear up some confusion for you.  Effective January 1, 2020 a federal law will go into place which will affect the Medicare Supplement plans that are available to NEWLY eligible Medicare beneficiaries.  The new legislation is called the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (also called MACRA).  Are you saying right now well I am not newly eligible or how do I know if I am newly eligible?  A newly eligible Medicare beneficiary can be defined as someone who is eligible for Medicare ON OR AFTER January 1, 2020.  So now are you saying well what about me, I do not fall into being newly eligible.  So you are enrolled into Medicare benefits before January 1, 2020 you are correct you are not newly eligible.  So what does that mean for you? The MACRA legislation does not affect you in any way.  You won’t lose your plan and you don’t need to switch plans.  Contact our independent licensed insurance agents to help determine what option is best for you.  Should you stay with what you have, do you need to look at making changes? Reviewing your plan is always a good idea, situations change and we will help you through it.  All you need to do is call 641-856-3375 and schedule your appointment so we can discuss your needs and concerns and make sure you have what you need for your situation.
