You might be wondering how do you get involved when it comes to insurance? Seems simple but yes it can be tough when getting involved in what seems to be your parents or even your families business. But they will thank you for it. As our parents get older they like to keep things private and not worry the kids. They play the well if they don’t ask we won’t tell game. Well I want to encourage you to get involved. As I was at training the last few days one of the speakers told a story on his mom. She fell and broke her hip and admitted herself into a nursing home just to get therapy. Well the unfortunate part was she didn’t realized because she checked herself in, that it was not going to be covered by her insurance. And when the son said mom why didn’t you call me when you fell, why didn’t you tell me? And she replied, I didn’t want to bother you, you are so busy. So I ask you are you to busy for your parents? In today’s world we are all busy. But had she just checked in with her son he could have helped her get it covered. Her lesson cost her $5800. Because she didn’t want to bother him and he never talked to her about her insurance coverage. Maybe you do not want your parents to feel like you are invading their privacy. That is ok too. But what you can do is suggest they contact our office at (641) 856-3375 and let us discuss their insurance needs and how can we make sure this doesn’t happen to them. Planning for their future and meeting their unique needs, get involved with your parents now don’t wait until they have a similar situation let’s get them covered today.
