12 inches the amount of water needed to cause your car to float
24 inches of water can carry away most vehicles
Do not attempt to drive through a flooded road
During a Flood:
- Avoid Flooded Areas
- Drive SLOWLY
- Avoid Driving through water with downed power lines
- If you get stuck in rising water get out and seek higher ground
- Pay attention to barricades and instructions from Law Enforcement
- Avoid entering the flood water if possible, it can be contaminated
- Do not walk through moving water
- Do not drive through moving water, or camp or park car near flooded roadways
